Description: 

An creative Java developer is needed to work on an aerospace research project to create novel technologies to capture and reuse knowledge from complex meetings. The role requires a clear working knowledge of java and its creative application to solving complex issues. Candidates must also demonstrate clear abilities to work with both external parties and the in-house development team in a dynamic and growing state of the art SME.

Renumeration:

Approximately ~£32K depending upon experience.

This is fixed 12 month position. Future potential is likely.

Required skills:

Must:

• Strong java programming proficiency, (proven experience and track record)
• Proven working knowledge of XML, SQL and query lanaguages.
• Proven track record of ability to quickly adapt to new and cutting edge technology.
• Degree or above (or equivalent) qualification regarding computer science.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of semantic technologies such as (but not limited to); RDF, SPARQL and connections to Linked data or open sematic data stores.
• Knowledge of developing for Android devices.
• Working knowledge of machine learning technology.
• Working knowledge of targeted data acquisition or indexing.
• Past experience on collaborative research projects.
• Working experience regarding information visualisation.
• Proven track record regarding complex applications from financial, retail, engineering or scientific domains.
